Job DescriptionJob Number:Accounting Manager - Hotel del Coronado, Curio Collection by Hilton (Job Number: HOT0B257)Work LocationsHotel del Coronado, Curio Collection by Hilton1500 Orange AvenueCoronado 92118The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for an Accounting Manager to join the team!Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and after a $400M renovation and expansion, the resort is more stunning than ever. Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms, cottages and villas with 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining.In this role, you will report to the assistant director and oversee accounts payable, account receivable, income audits and other general accounting tasks.The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years hospitality accounting management experience.What will I be doing?As an Accounting Manager, you would be responsible for managing the audit function in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Reconciles General Ledger accounts and reviews problematic accounts. Directs staff in follow-up of accounts.
  • Manages the performance of the Audit staff in Finance to include hiring, training, assigning tasks, giving guidance, monitoring accuracy, and issuing discipline.
  • In the absence of the Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance, supervises all staff and ensures all reports are processed promptly, such as month-end closing reports, monthly forecast and variance reports and visually reviews for accuracy.
  • Controls and tracks inventories of Hotel's operational, departmental and team member meal budgets.
  • Assists Hotel's Front Office management staff in interfacing front office and back-office Micros/Point of Sale systems and troubleshoots complications.
  • Calculates and produces daily deposit transmittals for checks received.
