Title: Sr. Director, Community + Corporate Fundraising

Direct Reports: Director, Community Fundraising, Director, Corporate Relations + Revenue, and Campaign Administrator

POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Director of Community + Corporate Fundraising will lead the strategic development and execution of all fundraising campaigns and corporate partnership efforts across Curebound. This role is responsible for overseeing direction and long-term growth strategy for large-scale annual campaigns, cultivating relationships with large corporate partners, and maximizing revenue streams from major special events. In addition, the Senior Director will lead a cross-campaign team of fundraisers to execute successful campaigns, build donor relationships, and achieve agreed upon revenue goals. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned fundraising professional with a proven track record of driving significant revenue growth through strategic campaigns and corporate engagement. This role is ideal for a dynamic, results-driven leader with a passion for driving revenue through strategic partnerships and innovative campaigns. The Senior Director of Community + Corporate Fundraising will play a key role in ensuring the long-term sustainability and growth of the organization by leading high-profile fundraising efforts and cultivating meaningful corporate relationships in fulfillment of Curebound's mission to mobilize San Diego to accelerate cures for cancer in our lifetime.
PRIORITIES FOR 2025


  • Create and Drive Current Revenue Streams and Campaigns

  • Drive results of Curebound's existing special event revenue streams - Concert for Cures and Curebound Cancer Challenge (formerly Padres Pedal the Cause) - including a key financial target of $17 million in 2025, diversified sales goals, and attendance metrics.
  • Cultivate and close new deals to drive revenue goals.
  • Assess opportunities within the current corporate partnerships and sponsorship programs to understand the scope, terms, and outcomes. Identify gaps, potential areas for growth, and partnerships that need re-engagement.
  • Define KPIs for community and corporate revenue. Set measurable goals for fundraising, donor retention, and partnership development across the Community and Corporate Fundraising team.

    Build and Expand Relationships with Key Stakeholders

    • Establish relationships with existing corporate partners, top teams, participants and fundraisers, and corporate executives. In partnership with the Directors, build relationships with major sponsors and prospects to build trust and grow revenue across all channels.
    • Engage board members and key volunteers in campaign planning and corporate outreach. Collaborate with leadership volunteers to leverage their networks for new sponsorship opportunities.
    • Collaborate with staff leading prospect research, donor relations and major gifts to segment donor prospects and build a steady pipeline of corporate and individual prospects for future campaigns.

      Lead team through transition and transformation

      • Work closely with the staff and volunteer committees to be a visible leader, providing inspiration, direction and results.

        PRIMARY ROLES + RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Direct and oversee all Curebound campaign revenue goals (40%)

        • Work with senior leadership to develop revenue forecasts and strategies that drive growth in both campaign and corporate revenue. Establish measurable goals and track progress toward meeting revenue targets.
        • Develop and implement strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
        • Work closely with the full Revenue Generation and Brand + Experience teams to ensure alignment and integration of revenue strategies.
        • Analyze market trends and donor data to inform strategies and identify new campaigns and revenue opportunities.
        • Provide continuous reporting and updates to senior leadership staff and volunteers on revenue performance, campaign outcomes, and partnership effectiveness.

          Develop and maintain a corporate portfolio of over 100 prospects at $100K+ potential (30%)

          • Oversee the research and identification of potential corporate and campaign donors. Develop tailored cultivation plans for each prospect, including personalized outreach, presentations, and proposals.
          • Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with corporate partners and sponsors to secure funding and support.
          • Partner with Director, Corporate Relations + Revenue to identify existing sponsors for potential growth and accompany on account meetings.
          • Partner with the Senior Director, Donor Relations to develop comprehensive stewardship plans to ensure that corporate sponsors and campaign donors receive appropriate recognition, follow-up, and reporting on the impact of their contributions.

            Lead a cross-campaign team to reach and exceed revenue targets (20%)

            • Hire and manage an A+ team of fundraising professionals and inspire them to achieve extraordinary results.
            • Set ambitious revenue goals and lead the team to achieve them.
            • Be a fundraising expert and leader for Curebound.
            • Contribute to building an innovative, constituent-focused and collaborative team environment.
            • Inspire achievement of goals by modeling the behavior of a lifetime relationship builder.
            • Set and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of campaigns and corporate revenue efforts, making data-driven adjustments as needed.
            • Lead the campaign revenue team within the Revenue Generation department by partnering with the CEO and COO to ensure all campaign revenue goals are met or exceeded.
            • Partner with team members to co-lead and attend committee meetings to track strategies, action items, attendees etc. Participate and present to committees when relevant.

              REQUISITE SKILLS + EXPERIENCE

              • Minimum 15+ years of experience working within the nonprofit fundraising, philanthropy sector, or sales organization and 10+ years of team leadership required
              • Demonstrated success in selling, developing and expanding financial partnerships
              • Experience in setting and achieving goals based on data and analytics
              • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally, and with the public
              • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail
              • Ability to hold self and others accountable
              • Ability to think creatively and strategically while executing plans to completion
              • An ambitious and enthusiastic mind-set with a focus on leadership, goal orientation and delivering results
              • Self-initiator, capable of working independently and making decisions based on sound judgment
              • Excellent and direct communicator who can effectively build trust and effective partnerships with a wide variety of stakeholders

                  COMPENSATION
                  In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the compensation target for this position, exclusive of additional benefits, is $150K-$170K. Final base salary will be determined based on factors such as previous experience, specific skills, and/or education. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
