Job Description:

Job Title: Sous ChefJob Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at 24 Carrots Catering and Events. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the preparation and presentation of our menu items.Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and managing kitchen budgets.
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu items, as well as improve existing ones.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to plan and execute special events, such as weddings and corporate functions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer complaints and feedback in a professional and courteous manner.Requirements:
    • 2-4 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role.
    • Proven track record of success in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
    • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
    • Ability to work well under pressure, meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification preferred.Working Conditions:

      • Stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and move quickly and efficiently around the kitchen.
